Alex Cobos studied veterinary medicine in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). After graduating in 2020, joined the Centre de Recerca en Sanitat Animal (CReSA) animal health research centre as a junior pathologist, in a residency – combined program with the UAB. In CReSA, his main job is as a pathologist in subcontracted clinical and preclinical trials involving a wide range of pathogens (mainly avian and porcine), as well as conducting official tuberculosis diagnosis and co-leading CReSA’s slaughterhouse support service (SESC). He is also involved as a pathologist in multiple research lines related to both foreign and endemic viruses, with special focus on endemic porcine viruses.
