19.00-20.00: Welcome Reception

The welcome reception will take place in the historic Maastricht City Hall (Stadhuis).
The city hall, built over the years 1659-1664 under the guidance of master architect Pieter Post, has a tower dating from 1684 and a carillon with 49 bells that is still regularly played. The interior is also very attractive, with beautiful wall tapestries, stucco work, ceiling paintings, and mantelpieces.
