TRAIN

Basel has three mainline train stations, and therefore offers excellent connections to all Swiss cities and major European cities. The Swiss Railway station (SBB), the French Railway station (SNCF) and the Badische Bahnhof, operated by German Railway (DB), are all conveniently located in the heart of the city.

Trains from France arrive at the French railway station, which is right next to the Swiss (SBB) station.
Guests travelling from Germany can choose whether to get off at Basel SBB or at the German station (Badischer Bahnhof) near the exhibition centre.

For guests from Germany: The event ticket offered jointly by Messe Basel and German railways (Deutsche Bahn) ensures that visitors can enjoy a relaxed trip to all our events for a fixed price (as of EUR 49.50 one-way). You can book the offer directly on the page of the organizer. Here you will find all events which take place with us and the individual websites to purchase the cooperation offer.

Getting to Hyperion by tram

From the SBB/SNCF railway station, it’s a ten-minute journey on the No. 1 or 2 Tram to the “Messeplatz/Exhibition Square” stop where Messe Basel and the Congress Center are located. From Badischer Bahnhof railway station, “Messeplatz/Exhibition Square” is the second stop on the No. 2 or 6 tram.

Guests staying in Basel hotels are given a personal guest card when they check in. This BaselCard gives them free use of public transport in the city and its surroundings (including the EuroAirport) for the entire duration of their stay.

CAR

Basel is easy to reach by car, as it is situated between the European north-south and east-west motorway junctions. Basel’s hotels and its car parks offer plenty of parking.
A vignette (toll road sticker) is required to use the Swiss motorway network. You can purchase it for CHF 40 at all customs offices, post offices, petrol stations, garages and road traffic offices.
There are numerous parking options in Basel, like car parks, hotel garages or a visitor parking card. Public car parks in Basel are shown on this website.

The exhibition and congress site has its own direct link to the A2 motorway, using the “Messe” exit.

SHIP

Arriving by ship is a special experience: on a river cruise you can reach the city directly via the Rhine. There are three landing stages in the St. Johann and Klybeck districts as well as directly at the border triangle. Information panels with hints on activities in Basel and a detailed route description for transfers to the city centre are located at the passenger terminals.
