Description

Dr. Duane A. Belote earned the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University (1987). He then served the United States Army Veterinary Corps (VC) for 20 years in Texas, Hawaii, Landstuhl Germany, and the Washington DC area. He completed the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) anatomic pathology residency and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathology (1996). Key military pathology roles were Chief, Diagnostics Division, US Army Veterinary Laboratory Europe, Landstuhl Germany; and Chief, Immunohistochemistry Branch, Division of Pathology, Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He then returned to the AFIP as a staff pathologist with his last role as Chief, Consultation and Training Division. Upon retiring from the US Army (2007), Dr. Belote joined Covance Laboratories (subsequently Labcorp) as an anatomic pathologist, and served in their Vienna Virginia, Chandler Arizona, and Chantilly Virginia/Remote teams. During Dr. Belote’s 16 years of experience as a contract laboratory toxicologic pathologist, he’s gained interest and recognition in dermatopathology, assessment of carcinogenesis, and veterinary anatomic nomenclature (SEND/INHAND).
