Joshua Webster is the Editor-in-Chief of Veterinary Pathology and is a Distinguished Scientist (Collaborative Pathologist) in the Department of Research Pathology at Genentech in South San Francisco, CA, USA. Josh has been in the Editor-in-Chief role at Veterinary Pathology since 2022, where he oversees all aspects of the journal. In his role at Genentech, Josh collaborates on discovery and translational research efforts to support drug development across multiple therapeutic areas. Josh earned his DVM and PhD degrees in comparative medicine and pathology at Michigan State University, where he studied prognostic factors of canine cutaneous mast cell tumors. Following his PhD, Josh completed his residency in anatomic pathology at Purdue University and is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists. After completing his training, Josh served a staff scientist in the National Cancer Institute’s (NCI) Molecular Pathology Unit, where he supported the NCI Comparative Biomedical Scientist Training Program and performed collaborative research. Josh subsequently joined Genentech, where he has been since 2012.
