Henrik Elvang Jensen, Professor, DVM, PhD, DVSci, Dipl. ECVP, FECMM, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, 3 Ridebanevej, DK-1870 Frederiksberg C, Denmark.
Professor and Chair of Veterinary Pathology at the University of Copenhagen since 1997.
2002-2005: Member of the examination board of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists.
Since 2011: Repeated appointed member of Expert groups at European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), Parma , Italy.
2016-2017: Chair of the evaluation committee of the Swedish Ph.D.-system, Universitets Kansler Embedet at SLU, Uppsala, Sweeden.
Since 2010: Repeated appointed member of Expert groups in the European Confederation of Medical Mycology of ESCMID for elaboration of Global guidelines for the diagnosis and management of mycoses in humans and animals.
1997-2014: Member of the steering group at the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences.
1995-2015: Member of the steering group for authorization of foreign veterinarians in Denmark. UCPH.
Since 2019: Member (currently Chair) of the Committee for European Certification in Veterinary Forensic pathology, ECVP.

Meetings and conferences:
Participated with oral presentations at more than 250 international meetings and conferences. Invited speaker at a number of occasions with presentations focusing on veterinary pathology.

Teaching:
Teaching experience (and subsequent examination of students) including lectures, practicals, courses, histopathology, and post-mortem work (diagnostic pathology) on domestic mammals (including meat inspection) and laboratory animals for veterinary students, biotech-students, human biology students in Denmark and other countries. Teaching experience at Ph.D.-level includes lectures, practicals, histopathology, and post-mortem work in the areas of Veterinary Science, Medical mycopathology, Applied toxicology, and Laboratory Animal Science.

Diagnostic work:
On a regular basis for more than 30 years carried out necropsies and subsequent histopathological examinations of mainly domestic mammals. Regularly, necropsies and subsequent histopathological examinations have also been carried out on laboratory animals. On a regular basis, arraigning courses in diagnostic pathology and mycopathology all over the world.

Research:
Mainly concerned with infectious diseases and inflammatory reactions in animals. Currently working with pathogenetic and diagnostic studies of bacterial and fungal infections in animal models (primarily mice and pigs). Several projects are designated to forensic veterinary pathology. Published more than 300 papers in international peer reviewed journals with more than 10,000 cotations. Written several books and chapters in national and international books related to laboratory animal models, mycopathology, and veterinary pathology.

Administration:
Member of the leader-group at Department of Veterinary Disease Biology, 1994-2013.
Chaired several national and international research projects in the field of veterinary pathology, funded by a variety of sources including Danish Foundations (e.g. Novo Nordisk Foundation), private interest organizations (e.g. SEGES), national institutions (e.g. Danish Veterinary and Food Administration) and national research councils and the EU (e.g. Eurostar and Horizon).
Chair and member of committees evaluating PhD- and doctoral theses in Denmark and several other countries.
Member and chair of numerous hiring committees for associate and full professors at universities across Europe.

Post graduate supervision:
Principle supervisor for more than 20 Ph.D.-students and co-supervisor for more than 25 Ph.D.-students since 1994.
