Dr Chris Palgrave is a UK-based anatomic pathologist and Head of Pathology for IDEXX South Africa, responsible for the team of anatomic and clinical pathologists operating from the laboratory in Johannesburg. Chris completed his veterinary degree and PhD at the University of Edinburgh and spent a year in clinical practice, before attending the residency programme at North Carolina State University, USA. Chris returned to the UK, holding academic positions at the Universities of Edinburgh, Bristol and Surrey, before joining IDEXX in 2018. He has extensive experience of teaching veterinary students and training anatomic pathology residents, both within an academic setting and in collaboration with universities as a commercial partner. Chris also contributes to the diagnostic pathology service and is involved in a number of collaborative research projects.
