Description

Associate Professor of General Pathology and Veterinary Anatomic Pathology at the Department of Veterinary Medicine, University of Perugia (Italy). She is an expert in dermatopathology and dermatologic oncology, focusing on research and diagnostics of skin diseases in dogs and cats, as well as melanocytic tumors in domestic animals. She serves as the Dermatopathology Coordinator for the Veterinary Pathology Service at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (OVUD) in Perugia.

She graduated from the University of Perugia in 1999 and completed a PhD and an ECVP residency program in Bern in 2005, where she also worked as a Dermatopathology Instructor from 2005 to 2006. A former Chair of both the Exam Committee and Education Committee of the European College of Veterinary Pathologists (ECVP), she is currently Vice President of the International Society of Veterinary Dermatopathology (ISVD) and serves as the Histopathology Lead for the Exam Committee of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD).

She has authored numerous scientific publications and is actively involved in research on immune evasion mechanisms in melanocytic tumors, as well as the application of 3D cell culture models in melanoma studies. She has secured funding for research projects on the phenotypic characterization of melanocytes and the identification of immunological biomarkers in skin cancers.

She regularly speaks at national and international conferences and is recognized for her contributions to veterinary dermatopathology and oncologic research.
