Prof. Dr. Achim D. Gruber, Ph.D., Dipl. ECVP, studied veterinary medicine at the Hannover Vet School, Germany, followed by a residency and Dr. med. vet. training program at the same university. Between 1994 and 1998, he completed a PhD training program in the field of Molecular Biology of Cancer at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in Ithaca, NY, USA. He became Diplomate of the ECVP by exam and German Expert in Veterinary Pathology in 2001. In 2003, he was appointed Professor of Molecular Pathology at the Hannover Vet School, followed by an appointment as Full Professor and Chair of the Pathology Department at Freie Univ. of Berlin in 2005. From 2013 to 2019 he served as Vice Dean for Research at the Berlin vet school. Since 2003, he has served on several bodies and committees of the ESVP and ECVP.
