Dr. Wright is a toxicologist with almost 30 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Holding a degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Bradford and a PhD in Neuropharmacology from the University of Nottingham, she has dedicated nearly 30 years to the discovery and development of new medicines at AstraZeneca.

During this time Dr Wright has gained extensive experience across various therapeutic areas including Oncology and Infection, navigating both the discovery and regulatory phases of drug development and has played a pivotal role in the successful approval of numerous marketed products.

Currently serving as a Strategic Toxicology Lead for AstraZeneca's late-stage portfolio, Dr. Wright plays a key role in guiding toxicologists on their assessments for small molecules, peptides, and oligonucleotides ensuring the conduct of data packages which meet regulatory requirements and successfully deliver medicines to patients.
