Heidrun Ellinger has a Diploma in Biochemistry from the University of Tuebingen, a PhD in Natural Sciences completed at the Max Planck Institute for Developmental Biology and is certified Eurotoxicologist. After postdoctoral training in molecular and cell biology at the National Institutes of Health in Washington and Kyoto University in Japan, she now holds the position of a Principal Scientist in Investigative and Predictive Toxicology at Bayer AG in Germany, which she joined in 2001. Her major current activities include evaluation of advanced in vitro models, and mechanistic transcriptomics analyses of in vitro and in vivo models. The latter includes gene expression analyses of short-term effects of major carcinogen classes (published), and in this context she is member of the Carcinogenomics Working Group of the HESI (Health and Environmental Institute) organization.
