Katarina Novaković graduated from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Belgrade, where she is currently pursuing a PhD in the field of One Health. In parallel, she is completing specialist studies in Microbiology at the Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade.
She has more than 18 years of experience in veterinary laboratory diagnostics. Katarina is the founder of the Vet Slide Club, an educational initiative designed to support veterinary students and early-career veterinarians in developing microscopy skills and confidence in diagnostic cytology.
Her professional interests extend beyond laboratory diagnostics and include permaculture, animal welfare, and the promotion of alternatives to the harmful use of animals in education. Over the years, she has served on multiple Animal Ethics Committees at the Faculties of Medicine, Biology, Agriculture, and Veterinary Medicine in Belgrade.
Katarina currently serves as Chair of the ESVCP Sustainability Working Group, where she brings together her experience in laboratory medicine, animal welfare, and sustainable practices to help advance environmental responsibility within veterinary diagnostic laboratories.
