Dear Friends, Members and Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the next joint European Congress of Veterinary Pathology and Clinical Pathology (ESVP/ECVP/ESVCP/ECVCP), taking place from 16–19 September 2026 in Nantes, France.
Since our recent meetings — the 2025 individual congresses in Torino (ESVP/ECVP) and Bristol (ESVCP/ECVCP), and the last joint edition in Lisbon in 2023 — we’ve all been reminded of something essential: Zoom or Teams are useful… but nothing replaces meeting face-to-face. Sharing science, ideas, a laugh, a coffee — and yes, the occasional debate about staining artefacts — simply works better when we’re together.
In 2026, Nantes will be that place for us.
Bringing veterinary pathologists and clinical pathologists together is more than a tradition, it is evidence: it reflects our shared mission and daily practice. Many of today’s diagnostic challenges live at the interface between morphology, biological and clinical data. Joint discussions, integrated approaches to disease mechanisms, and cross-disciplinary case work enhance our understanding, strengthen diagnostics, and drive innovation and elevate our science.
Our two Societies and Colleges will join forces for the first time in France. Expect a rich and exciting program designed to highlight the synergy between veterinary pathology and clinical pathology: state-of-the-art joint sessions, inspiring keynotes, educational talks, hands-on workshops, and plenty of opportunities to connect, discuss and collaborate. Science, learning, curiosity — and maybe a glass of Muscadet too.
Nestled along the Loire River, Nantes is one of France’s most creative and forward-thinking cities — historical yet modern, elegant yet playful (where else can you hop on a giant mechanical elephant between sessions?). From 18th-century architecture to vibrant research hubs, from leafy parks to cutting-edge cultural spots, Nantes combines innovation, culture, and a laid-back lifestyle that makes it a pleasure to explore.
With its dynamic university scene, strong biomedical community, fantastic food (seafood lovers, get ready), easy access from across Europe, and friendly atmosphere, the city offers the perfect setting for a memorable scientific experience — and a few unforgettable moments beyond the lecture halls.
