Frauke Wilm holds a degree in Medical Engineering from the Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg, where she specialized in medical image and data processing. She completed her PhD in Computer Science in 2025. Her research addressed the robustness of machine learning models in digital pathology, with a focus on overcoming domain shifts caused by cross-species or cross-site variability. Her doctoral work was conducted in collaboration with Merck KGaA, Darmstadt.
In October 2024, Frauke joined MIRA vision, a deep tech start-up dedicated to leveraging synthetic data to train machine learning models for medical diagnostics—particularly in digital pathology. As a Machine Learning Engineer, she develops and validates algorithms and coordinates interdisciplinary collaboration between technical and medical experts.
