Description

I am an evolutionary biologist investigating the determinants of aging in primates through the lenses of life history theory, socioecology, and integrative biomarker approaches. My research explores how social environments shape physiological and molecular processes that influence health trajectories and aging across the lifespan. I trained as a veterinarian at Oniris – National School of Veterinary Medicine in France, before pursuing a Master of Research in Primate Ecology in the United Kingdom and completing a PhD in Behavioral Ecology at University of Göttingen in Germany. My predoctoral and doctoral work investigated links between sociality and health using endocrinological and immunological markers, combining field studies in sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia with research in captive populations. Currently, at the Center for Evolution and Medicine at Arizona State University, my research aims to uncover the causes of variation in aging within and between individuals. I integrate epigenomic and hematological biomarkers to better understand the biological mechanisms underlying heterogeneity in aging across mammals, with a particular focus on dogs and non-human primates.
