Sunish Mohanan, BVSc, PhD, DACVP, is Senior Director of Research Pathology and Nonclinical Safety at Gilead Sciences, where he leads inflammation and oncology biomarker pathology programs from early discovery through clinical development. 

As a board-certified veterinary pathologist, he focuses on tissue-based biomarkers in inflammation and oncology, as well as advanced pathology tools to study clinical trial tissue samples.  

He joined Gilead after pathology roles at GlaxoSmithKline and Eli Lilly. He served as President of the SOT Comparative and Translational Pathology Specialty Section, chairs the INHAND Hematolymphoid Working Group, and has contributed peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, including "Immune System" in Haschek and Rousseaux's Handbook of Toxicologic Pathology and Toxicologic Pathology for Non-Pathologists.
