Description

Tatiana Flisikowska is a biomedical scientist with extensive experience in genetic engineering, translational disease modelling and large-animal research. Her work focuses on the development and application of genetically modified pig models to better understand human diseases and to support preclinical biomedical research. Over the course of her career, she has contributed to the establishment of clinically relevant models for cancer, inflammatory disease, immunology and genome engineering, with a particular emphasis on bridging the gap between rodent studies and human medicine.

She has worked for many years at the Technical University of Munich, where her research has centred on genome-edited pig models for translational oncology and immunology. Her scientific interests include pancreatic and colorectal cancer models, tumour–immune interactions, microbiome-related mechanisms of disease progression, and the development of humanised pig models for therapeutic testing. She has also been involved in European collaborative research projects aimed at advancing the use of non-human pig models in biomedical research.

Tatiana Flisikowska has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in the fields of genetic engineering, large-animal models and translational biomedicine. Her research combines molecular genetics, functional genomics, pathology, immunology and preclinical model development.

She has accepted a Professor position at Poznan University of Life Sciences, which she will take up in October. In this role, she will continue to develop translational large-animal models and expand research programmes at the interface of genome engineering, oncology, immunology and biomedical innovation.
