Steven T. Laing, BVMS (Hons), PhD, DACVP, MRCVS is Director and Head of Portfolio Pathology at Genentech, providing strategic leadership for toxicologic pathology across a broad drug development portfolio. A board-certified veterinary pathologist, he has supported small molecule and biologic programs from discovery through late-stage development and contributed to multiple regulatory submissions.
Dr. Laing is a recognized leader in New Approach Methodologies and complex in vitro models (CIVMs). He chairs the Society of Toxicologic Pathology CIVM Special Interest Group and is an active contributor to cross-industry initiatives advancing microphysiological systems and nonclinical-to-clinical translation. His work focuses on integrating in vitro and in vivo data to improve predictive safety assessment and translatability to human outcomes.
