Description

Simone de Brot, DVM, Dr. med. vet., PhD, DipECVP, is a veterinary pathologist and scientific assistant at the Institute of Animal Pathology, University of Bern, Switzerland, and an Honorary Assistant Professor at the University of Nottingham, UK. She also serves as a consultational pathologist at Tremont AI.

She obtained her veterinary degree and doctoral title from the University of Zurich, where she also completed her ECVP residency in veterinary pathology. She subsequently earned a PhD from the University of Nottingham, focusing on comparative urologic cancer models.

Her key research interests lie in comparative urogenital cancer in humans and dogs, and in computational pathology. With over a decade of experience in digital histopathology and image analysis across diverse imaging modalities, she specializes in the application of AI-based tools for quantitative tissue assessment, biomarker discovery, and evaluation of therapeutic interventions.

Dr. de Brot collaborates closely with academic, private, and industry partners to advance digital pathology solutions toward translational and routine applications.

She is Co-President of the Swiss Society of Veterinary Pathologists and a recognized specialist in veterinary pathology by the European Board of Veterinary Specialists.
