Roland Rad is Professor and Director of the Institute of Molecular Oncology at the Technical University of Munich and the German Cancer Research Center. He received clinical and scientific training at TUM University Hospital and the Wellcome Sanger Institute in Cambridge, UK. His laboratory investigates mechanisms underlying cancer evolution to better understand processes such as malignant transformation, metastasis, and drug resistance. The group´s research integrates genomics, systems biology and translational sciences. One focus lies on developing and applying genetic technologies, including screening systems in cells and mice.
