Dr. Dinesh S. Bangari, BVSc&AH, PhD, DACVP, is the Head of Global Discovery Pathology & Multimodal Imaging in Sanofi's Translational Models Research Platform, based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. He leads a cross-functional team of board-certified pathologists, PhD scientists, in vivo imaging experts, and certified histotechnologists. Dr. Bangari is an accomplished biopharmaceutical research leader with over 16 years of investigative pathology experience, utilizing translational models for drug discovery and development. His expertise spans translational research in support of discovery and development of small molecules, biologics, and gene therapy modalities across diverse therapeutic areas, including Immunology & Inflammation, Oncology, Rare Monogenic Diseases, and Neurodegenerative Diseases.
Dr. Bangari's work encompasses New Approach Methodologies (NAMs), including the development and application of organoid models for human lung, intestine, and skin to enhance translational relevance in preclinical research. His team has strong foundation and acute focus on artificial intelligence and machine learning applications in discovery pathology and spatial biology, driving innovation in data-driven pathological assessments.
As a board-certified veterinary anatomic pathologist, Dr. Bangari is a subject matter expert in comparative pathology and translational research, and a passionate thought leader in project-centric scientific innovation. He is actively involved in external scientific engagement, including academic collaborations and industry-university consortia. He has published over 75 scientific publications and co-authored a book.
Dr. Bangari obtained his veterinary degrees from GB Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, Uttarakhand, India, and the Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar, Uttar Pradesh, India. He completed his doctoral and anatomic pathology training at Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana, USA.
