Ronnie Chamanza is a Distinguished Scientist in the Pathobiology Department at Johnson & Johnson, where he has worked for the past 9 years. He works remotely from the UK, but as part of the Beerse pathology team in Belgium. Ronnie is a Toxicologic Pathologist with more than 20 years of experience, having previously worked at Syngenta UK, Huntingdon Life Sciences (now LabCorp), and Charles River, Edinburgh. His main areas of interest and expertise include pathobiology of the nonhuman primate (NHP), carcinogenicity assessment, respiratory and inhalation, early discovery and development of gene and cell therapy products, and local tolerability of long acting injectables, subjects on which he has authored/co-authored more than 30 peer-reviewed articles, including 9 book chapters. Ronnie served as a Guest Editor and lead author in the Special Issue on the ‘Pathobiology of the NHP’ published in the Toxicologic Pathology Journal, and he currently serves as the Chair of the NHP Special Interest Group, Associate Editor of the Toxicologic Pathology Journal, Chair of Panel of Examiners for the FRCPath in Veterinary Pathology, and a member of the Accreditation Committee of the FIATP. Internally at J&J Ronnie a co-chair of the carcinogenicity assessment review committee (CARC).
