Description

Dr. Ken Frazier is a veterinary nephrologist who received his DVM from Kansas State University in the USA and a PhD in molecular biology from the University of Miami in the USA. He completed a residency in comparative pathology at the University of Miami School of Medicine, and is board certified in both pathology (ACVP) and toxicology (ABT). He has over 35 years of experience working with renal toxicology and antisense oligonucleotide biology and his research includes the discovery of the biology of CTGF (a critical growth factor in CKD), and the first demonstration of epithelial-mesenchymal transition in rodent kidneys. He retired in 2020 from GSK after 18 years working as a toxicologic pathologist, senior science fellow, safety assessment liaison to GSK’s alliance business partners, and co-chair of the GSK Nephrology Safety Panel. Prior to that he was a faculty member at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine for many years. He has authored over 85 scientific publications and 14 book chapters dealing with drug-induced kidney injury and/or antisense oligonucleotide safety.  He is currently the vice-president of the International Academy of Toxicologic Pathology and consults and lectures widely.
